Can you do this in Automator?... Normalizing entire Music Library....

Hi,

I have a large Music (Itunes) collection. I have noticed that most of the songs are drastically different in volume. I know there is a way to adjust the volume within the Music app, but this doesn't translate when you move the files to external devices (Ipod/Ipad/Iphone).

So I am wondering if there is a way to resolve this using Automator and Izotope's RX11 Audio Editor......

I want to create an automation that opens .mp3s in RX11... performs the "Normalize" function (to a certain value).... and then saves(overwrites) the file so that the Normalized file appears in Music/Itunes.

I am new to Automator and appreciate any help with this!

I'm sure there is and someone will come along soon to help, but you should test the normalization before you try it. From the human ear's perspective, volume is a subjective matter and the perceived volume is affected by things such as compression, frequency and what's been listened to immediately before and after.
