What causes Disks Not to Eject Properly on iMac?

It has been frustrating going through past posts mentioning issues with "Disk Not Ejecting Properly" and not finding any solutions; just speculation (including Apple Help Desk engagements). The closest connections appear to have something to do with having Time Machine backups using multiple brands of external HDD and SSD disks, Screensaver/Disk Sleep settings, and possibly power supply problems using M chip desktop ports. It does not appear to be solely connected to Sequoia 15 (I am on 15.2). However, I have found no one with a specific fix for the issue. I think this is one of the problems with the "Community:" the only people using it are those of us having issues and very few share solutions once they find them.

Has anyone actually found out why this has been happening and what their fix was?
