Converting SD2 files to WAV or AIFF in Logic

I have a lot of old sessions on hard drives that have unfortunately converted to sd2. I ‘ve read in several places that Logic will convert them back to wav or aif, but it refuses to see them as import-able audio files. Any suggestions? I can pay for a converter but still hoping I’m just missing something…….
