How to setup iPadOS 18 to play my own and music purchased through iTunes using a Windows 11 PC

Ever since iOS 18 was launched it has locked a lot (over 5,000 tracks, 75%) of my own music tracks and thiose purchased through iTunes, that cannot be played, even on my PC. When I setup both my iPhone and iPad to sync all music each unit syncs and differing number of tracks - WHY?

Where can I find out exactly how to re-setup my system in order to be able to choose and play what I want.

I cannot even find out the correct directory structure that Music/iTunes should have.

Apple are trying to force you into a subscription but I have never streamed music and never will.

I have given up with Apple Support as nobody actually reads what you write; they follow their own script.

Uninstall Apple Music, Apple Devices, and Apple TV. iTunes will then no longer be limited to working with audiobooks and podcasts. iTunes is a better media manager overall. If your devices have partial syncs you may need to use Settings > General > iDevice Storage > Music > Edit to clean off existing content so that it can be synced properly from your computer once more. Obviously don't do this if content in your library is missing or not working for reasons unknown. Ideally backup the library & media.
