Unable to play Podcasts on Apple Watch

Podcasts will not play on WatchOS, whether downloaded episodes or streaming. The app crashes after a second or two.

All other audio streaming works -- Music, Phone calls, and Audio Books.

This has been true for months now, so it is not a recent issue. I have latest software, have restarted everything, tried deleting downloaded episodes, etc.
