2nd Gen iPad Mini - need the old charging cable

Help!! I have an old iPad mini 2nd Gen Model A1489 and I need to find a charging cord for it so I can use the Facetime feature. The original charging cord that came with it was misplaced. The new lighting cords do not fit my old ipad mini port. I have tried to find some to buy and no luck. Any suggestions?

Apple still sells Lightning charging cables. You will need either a USB-A to Lightning or USB-C to Lightning cable depending on the power adapter you will be using. This iPad came with a 10W USB-A power adapter for reference.

Hmm, the iPad mini 2 has a Lightning connector. The power adapter that came with it, has a USB-A connector. I'm not sure how this cable would not work ... and yes, I do see that your iPad mini 2 is not on the compatibility list. Not sure why it is not.

Alternately, you can purchase these cables from other sources. For example, I just checked with Amazon and they sell them from a number of manufactures, including Apple. If you don't want to use an Apple cable, those from Anker would be a good alternate choice.
