iPhone 16 Pro Max battery drain and glitches after iOS 18.2 update

Hi Team,

I purchased an iPhone 16 Pro Max a week ago, but after updating to software version 18.2, I’ve noticed the battery drains very quickly. I’m having to charge it multiple times a day.

Could you please assist with resolving this issue?

Thank you,

iPhone 16 Pro Max, iOS 18

Thank you for your response. However, storage space on my mobile is not an issue, as I have ample space available. The battery performance was excellent prior to the 18.02 update, so I am confident this issue is related to the software update.

Kindly provide a valid explanation for this or create a bug report, as I have noticed that many others are experiencing the same issue after upgrading to 18.02. For example, here are some similar cases below.

iPhone Battery Draining After an Update:

I. Does your iPhone Feel Hot?:

A. See How Much Free Space Remains:

Go to: Settings > General > iPhone Storage and then see how much space remains. If little, then the battery will drone fast, and it will overheat.

B. End All Running App:

  • Start with a Force Restart:

Save what need be, and then perform a Force Restart. Refer to this link: Force Restart iPhone - Apple Support

  • Close All Apps:

An app is likely not responding. So, close all apps. Hold you finger down as you swipe up. Then, close all of these open apps, by swiping up quickly for all apps.

II. Report this to Apple:

iPhone battery draining is a well-known issue after installing an update on an iPhone series compatible with iOS 18. Question is: "Just how many people have actually reported this to Apple?" So, this overheating may be making this occur.

Do your Part: Provide Apple with feedback on this, letting them know about this issue.  Apple may not get back to you directly, but the more feedback they receive on this, the more they will know what is occurring, and what bug fixes to include in updates to come. Apple will know nothing of your occurrence, if you don't report it to them.

  1. Go Here: Feedback - iPhone - Apple
  2. Select: "Bug Report" for the "Feedback Type"
  3. Comment: that this all began after installing an update. Include the URL of this thread
  4. Proceed from there as necessary

You are welcome.

I’ve seen plenty of reports of this, myself, but have not yet experienced the issue. If all else is fine, then update it, and report back the results after to do so.
