Thanks for your reply. This one had me baffled but now I believe I'm on the right track.
I use an iPad Air 2, an iPad Pro, an iMac and a Desktop Pro. ICloud was set up originally on the Desktop Pro with the other three iClouds on the 'family sharing' plan. In addition I use Dropbox on all four. My wife also uses an iMac and the iCloud on that one is also on my original family sharing.
I decided to give her the iPad Air 2 so I erased it and set it up for her with all her info. Since her Apple ID was part of my family sharing it synced with the other four. This somehow made the external bluetooth ios keyboards on both iPads inoperable.
I hope I'm doing the right thing to correct this fiasco. Please advise if you or others disagree.
My iMac is where I've done most of my work so I'm starting there. I made a new folder and called it 'desktop items' and placed all the desktop into it. This removed everything from iCloud and placed it into my startup volume. I then went to iCloud and cancelled its inclusion in family sharing. Then I cancelled iCloud.
Then I made another new folder and called it 'dropbox items'. I opened Dropbox and transferred all the iCloud items into it.
Later I'll drag all the desktop items to the desktop and the dropbox items back into Dropbox.
On and on. I'll do this on all five machines. Then I'll go back to iCloud manager and sign on again without using their family sharing.
I'm hoping this will allow Bluetooth to work properly on both iPads so the keypads will work again. Any suggestions are very welcome.
