iPhone 16 Pro Max Can’t Scan lottery tickets

The iPhone 16 Pro Max, using the camera fails to scan a California Lottery scratcher repeatedly. The app uses the wrong lens. I have relaxed the iPhone 16 Pro Max camera settings so it should be usable. However, it does not access the iPhone's macro lens and remains blurry and impossible to scan the codes. When moving the iPhone back for clarity, the screen goes black with what seems to be a white framing object. It then presents an white error message on a red background stating the code is unreadable.The picture is out of focus when close to the QR code or the front code.

You have to hold the phone much farther away than with older phones. If you hold it close it won’t work. I just figured this out after getting frustrated thinking my new phone sucked. Also, I didn’t win the lottery😩

iPhone 16 use ultra wide angle lens for macro/closeup. Previous iPhone models use 24mm 1X lens for closeup. California lottery app is set to pick wrong lens and app does not allow users to switch lenses.
