motion 5 oscillate animated eyes blinking limit?

Why can't a 2 minute cartoon character piece only bling 4 times with the behavior parameter oscillate? I was able to duplicate the 2 blinks/oscillate layer for 2 more later blinks/oscillate layer. When I made a 3rd duplicate layer of the original layer for more blinks and no new animation appears in the Animated/keyframe editor window and the 2nd layer of blinks/oscillate vanished too!

Why does this occur?

I need my cartoon to blink more! \o/

Could you post your project for me to download to look at it. I think I know what you're talking about, but not sure about how the eyelash line is supposed to work...

I don't handle blinking eyes quite the same way... I animate a blink over time, clone the result, then use a replicator (with the clone) with an oscillator on the Source Start Frame... Below is a "regular" blink (using Oscillate w/Speed), but there's a way to create irregular blinking using an Oscillate parameter using Phase instead of Speed.

We need to know more about how you set up your cartoon eyes to animate the blink. Are you animating shapes some kind of way or are you simply alternating in closed eyes images for open eye images? Details please!

In a new Motion Project, I first start with an active camera. Then, made an animated face/skull with a circle. Then added a circle for the left open eye with a pupil circle and eyelash line. I then grouped all together as Left Eye Group.

I then added another circle on top of the left eye group, covering it completely and changed the color to the color of face/skull in the Left Eye Group, to show the illusion of a shut eye. I also duplicated the eyelash from Left Eye Group, put it on top of the shut eye circle, rotated it around and set the eyelash on the bottom of the shut eye circle. I then grouped the the 'shut eye" parameters and named it left shut eye.

I then added the Oscillate to Left Shut Eye, set up the Oscillater for a couple blinks and I can't seem to add anymore.....?
