Downloading podcasts to Apple app not working

Just got new iPhone and on OS 18.2. Transfer across gone well overall.

When I try to download an podcast episode (have different ones), it goes through the motions of downloading but then shows ‘Download failed; download error’.

Any ideas? Poor network where I live so downloading works well for my walks.

Podcasts are "temporarily unavailable" on multiple apps For a few days now, I believe following the 16.5.1 update, I've been I unable to download or stream most new podcasts, with an error message saying they're "temporarily unavailable". This is consistent across Apple Podcasts, Pocket Casts, and Amazon Music. The only exception I've found is the NPR News podcasts, with Up First and NPR News Now both working normally (but not, for example, This American Life, or various other non-NPR podcasts). This happens both on my home wifi and on mobile data, and only seems to affect my iPhone 14 (my iPad and MacBook are fine). I've rebooted the phone and reset the network settings, but no luck. Any help is greatly appreciated!

All podcasts fail to download on iOS 18.4 Every night when I get on WiFi I previously opened the podcast app and downloaded all of the day’s episodes to listen to the next day. I noticed on April 1st they all failed. A quick google search said to check updates so naturally I upgraded to iOS 18.4, but the issue persisted. The app still loads all of the episodes of multiple podcasts that posted for the day, they all begin downloading, but once the little purple circle closes I get the error message “unable to download, try again later.” I’ve restarted my phone a bunch, I’ve turned off or changed around multiple podcast settings (and changed back), and nothing helps. Am I alone? Some people on Reddit have talked about this issue, but it seems fairly isolated unless people aren’t noticing they’re streaming their podcasts over cellular. I haven’t tried deleting and reinstalling where it’s a stock app I wasn’t sure if that would help at all.
