Unable to update Apps and iOS on iPad and MacBook

My iPad 9th gen (IOS 17) and Macbook are both unable to update apps all of a sudden and unable to download new apps too.. though compatible with them, and having enough memory space.

When I then go to do an IOS update my iPad wanted to download IOS18.3 which isnt even out yet. When I plug it into my Macbook its still unable to update even with the override buttons you press (home & lock button)... So I went on to try update the IOS on my Macbook as the apps no longer update on here either, same thing I get an error message... My Mac is is IOS 12.6 Montery, & a Pro 2021... I have no idea what Apple is doing, and am no where near an Apple store... I have thought about wiping my iPad to get it to work again cuz everythings backed up... Spoke with a rep on the online Apple chat and they walked me through all the ways to get it to work and still it didnt... So what Im really asking is is this an Apple problem and not my devices... Why does my iPad want to update to an IOS not even available yet.. Has anyone else had these problems?

You might be best advised to seek assistance directly from Apple Support. You can contact the Support Team using the Support link at top-right or bottom-left of this page.

Alternatively, you can initiate and manage your support cases from Apple devices using the excellent Apple Support App. If not already installed, the App can be downloaded from the App Store:

You might also visit the Genius Bar at your local Apple Store or Apple Authorised Service Provider (AASP) - where the technicians will be able to offer assistance:

If multiple different device types - such as Mac and iPad - are both encountering a similar issue, you might reasonably anticipate that the problem is external to the devices and their setup.

The most likely candidate is your WiFi Router or internet connection unexpectedly being unable to resolve some external IP Addresses via DNS, or that some server resources are unavailable or are being unexpectedly blocked.

you may find that a restart of your WiFi Router, followed by a restart of your iPad will clear the problem….

To restart your router, disconnect power from the router for at least 30 seconds - then reconnect power to restart. After your router reboots (which may take several minutes), restart your devices.

thanks for the adivce!

Been in contact with apple support and they could not provide any help..

sadly there is not apple store anywhere near me and I fear the plane ticket to get to one would cost more than just buying a new device if I cannot fix it myself which is ridiculous to say the least...

I will be trying the apple support app if i can even get it to download which is half of my issue on both my mac and ipad :((((

thanks again for trying!

Any enquiries concerning your MacBook and macOS would be better posted in the Mac sections of the Apple Support Community. As is, you have posted within the iPad Community - and a thread discussing iPad Apps.
