USB-C Ethernet Adapter not working

FWIW I’ve used several of these on a 2017 MBP over the years (now limited to 13.7.2) w/ never a problem to date.

(other than physically misplacing the darned things on remote job sites)

Something that reminds you of its use as a USB to LAN device.

Clearly not Thunderbolt-to-Thunderbolt or other things that are not obviously related to USB and LAN/Ethernet uses.

¿what choices do you have?

if none are made available, it is possible the current adapter has no Drivers that could "make it GO".

the Belkin adapter I bought from The Apple online store works great on M1 PRO 16-in MacBook Pro.

it has been replaced at the same price-point with one that now includes 2.5G as well as all the others.

if the list of network devices does not show any USB-LAN or similar devices, use the [+] or gear or [...] below the list to add a device of that kind.

Do you have any gear currently that could do 2.5 G speeds?

When you do, the Official position is that you must have better spec cables.

The actual experience users report is that it works with many good quality cables, just not at up to 100 meters (the length of an American football field) lengths. Most cable in our home are already way shorter than that. So try it before you pull new cables -- you may not need new cables.

what do their support pages say? the same as the Anker?

nothing after 2020, i.e., no Apple-silicon Macs?

There was a similar Mac accessory mass extinction event when all the Mac Wi-Fi adapters in the world died when 64-bit drivers become the standard.

did you buy the 1G Ethernet adapter, or the newer 2.5 G adapter?

they should both support all types of Ethernet including down as low as 10/100.
