Can I use AirPlay with Apple Music on Windows without iTunes?

My computer needed to be restored after a disk crash. When I went to reinstall iTunes I found Apple's new apps for Music, syncing, etc... I have my own mp3 library - I do NOT want to pay for an Apple Music subscription, or Apple Music syncing (and messing with) my files.

With iTunes, I was able to connect to my library from my Onkyo receiver via Airplay to play my music. Will that still work with the new Music apps if I don't install iTunes?

You do not have to use the newer apps. They are not yet as capable as iTunes, and disable many of iTunes functions when present. If you have installed any of Apple Music, Apple TV or Apple Devices I suggest you remove them, then install iTunes from this link:
