I shut off the printer and see if that does anything. If not, I will update the Firmware. However, I hope it does not interfer with my Windows printing and scanning which is working Great!
I was was told I can update the firmware on the printer correct? I believe you mentioned that.
I do have FIOS Verizon with a new router, its the which tower like router, installed several months ago by Verizon and all was working great! i have Iphone 12 pro max and my printer Mf229dw. is listed in the Apple printer listing.
Another support comment--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
had this exact same problem with my new IPhone 15 Pro Max and IOS 17.1.1. This is what fixed it.
If the Canon MF232W is connected to your WIFi and is functioning with a connection do the following to update to the latest Canon firmware:
Again, says printing 1 of 1, Canon MF220 (I have a MF229dw, but sure they use a series #
" error occurred printing this document"
cancel print job
open print center
Try Again
Just shut off the printer over one hour and got this message again.
I pretty much tried most of your procedure. However, not the firmware as yet, since someone from Apple support indicated it might disable or interfere with my windows desktop depending on support from Canon, and they will not provide any support for my machine since it’d been retired or reached the end of its service life.
Frankly, I would have been happy to pay a service charge, but there was buy a new printer.
Anyway, my AirPrint was perfect before 18.2.1 update.
I know it was in the tip:
Do you have a 3rd party VPN installed, even if you are not using it? If so, delete the VPN profile in Settings/General/VPN & Device Management/VPN. Don't just turn it off; delete the profile. If that fixes it, you can try reinstalling VPN.
Lawrence,
Thanks so much for your very informative and well described possible solutions. First, my VPN says not connected and then "Sign in to work or school account" which I never touched. So there is no way to delete it. So, its apparent my School does not allow use of VPN.
