I shut off the printer and see if that does anything. If not, I will update the Firmware. However, I hope it does not interfer with my Windows printing and scanning which is working Great!

I was was told I can update the firmware on the printer correct? I believe you mentioned that.

I do have FIOS Verizon with a new router, its the which tower like router, installed several months ago by Verizon and all was working great! i have Iphone 12 pro max and my printer Mf229dw. is listed in the Apple printer listing.

had this exact same problem with my new IPhone 15 Pro Max and IOS 17.1.1. This is what fixed it.

If the Canon MF232W is connected to your WIFi and is functioning with a connection do the following to update to the latest Canon firmware:

  1. Press Menu on the printer keyboard
  2. Use arrow down and select System Management Settings and press OK.
  3. Enter your manager pin # if you made one and press OK. I believe of you did not create a System Manager Pin the you can just press OK
  4. Use the arrow down button and get to Update Firmware and press OK.
  5. Now select with down arrow, Via Internet and OK.
  6. If the printer has the latest Firmware it will quickly state that on the display.
  7. If there is an update it will display a little clock and the dials moving. Let this finish out (It could take a few minutes) and the firmware will complete and will automatically restart the printer.
  8. Once the restart is done the printer will work like it has always worked for you with AirPrint once you select the MF230 Printer as your printer and then hit print.

I pretty much tried most of your procedure. However, not the firmware as yet, since someone from Apple support indicated it might disable or interfere with my windows desktop depending on support from Canon, and they will not provide any support for my machine since it’d been retired or reached the end of its service life.

Frankly, I would have been happy to pay a service charge, but there was buy a new printer.

Anyway, my AirPrint was perfect before 18.2.1 update.
