Homepod Audio Delay from Hard Drive and other issues.

When I use homepod to play a video from my hard drive, the audio is delayed 2 seconds.

This does not happen when streaming from [Netflix, Amazon, AppleTV, etc.],

nor in any case with bluetooth.

How do I fix this?

Other:

My home pods constantly fail to play audio from both speakers in a pair (from MACBOOK). This can be pure audio or video. Restarting them and re-pairing them has fixed this OCCASIONALLY, then they stop working again. What can I begin with to fix this? I have more than sufficient bandwidth. The only time this is not an issue is when they are unpaired and I can select multiple speakers individually, the option of which is only available with Apple applications, yet not from the control center on my MAC!

You should be able to use Mac control center to select them or at least set them up to be the default audio in sound settings. The lag is more likely to happen while streaming though. You’re currently running an older macOS software - Monterey too which is less reliable and I seem to recall there was an issue showing paired HomePods. The only solution might be to upgrade to a later OS - dependent on if your model supports that.
