Unwanted podcasts turning up on my feed

I am listening to a podcast and when the episode is finished I get a random podcast that I have no interest in but some algorathim thinks I should. What is even worse there is no way of blocking it.

And still have that issue instead of going to the next episode in a series I might get an episode of something that is in my Library but I am not in the mood for.

Unwanted podcasts showing up in Listen Now This started a couple of weeks ago. In the Listen Now section of the podcast app, under the Up Next header, I'm getting episodes for podcasts I'm not subscribed to nor have ever been subscribed to. I may have listened to one or two episodes from the podcasts, but I never subscribed, and I never relistened to the episodes. Usually, episodes I download are removed after I've listened to them. But now I'm bombarded with episodes for every single podcast I've ever listened to. Which is really annoying. How can I get the podcast app to stop doing this?

Unsubscribed podcasts keep appearing on up next I recently unsubscribed from a number of podcasts and everything was fine… for awhile. But recently episodes from those podcasts have started reappearing in my up next list. It’s happening daily. Anyone know what’s going on?

Why are Apple Podcasts playing a random show by default when the current podcast ends? I am so frustrated listening to your podcast app. I typically listen to many episodes from one specific show, one after another. I don’t know if it was the iOS 18 update back in 2024, but for a long time now, each time an episode from a specific show ends, another show will play right afterwards— a show that I do not want to listen to. Even if I manually remove every single show from the Up Next area, the next day, there will be a whole bunch of random shows back in there. The only way to solve this annoyance is to uncheck continuous play. That doesn’t stop the random shows from appearing up next. It just stops those random shows from automatically playing after the episode that I am listening to ends. Less Posted [Edited by Moderator]

There is a service that a small number of podcasters use that puts an episode from another podcast in their feed in the 2nd position. If you do not like this - you need to complain to the podcaster and let them know you are unsubscribing from their show. Note - The podcasters are getting paid for that other episode to be in their feed.
