Pink color while clicking photos in sunlight

While clicking photos I have observed that several objects in the frame get discolored and appear pink. I dont think it is a software glitch as it only happens on my Iphone 16

That’s an optical defect called Chromatic Aberration. There are two types, lateral and longitudinal. Wide angle lenses typically present lateral chromatic aberration and telephotos display longitudinal chromatic aberration. They are generally lumped together and simply referred to as CA.

Basically what’s happening is the light is not coming into to focus at the same point on the sensor. I’ll refer to the Wikipedia article on the subject at this point. If you want to learn more, please read the article linked to and we can discuss.

CA is one of the easiest defects to remove or minimize in editing software. It can also be reduced through the use of lens profiles in the software.

Thank you for sharing. Yes, it’s the Fusion camera in use. Try to not use the fusion camera and just tap the setting for the single lens, .5X, 1X or 3/5X depending on the iPhone in use.

White objects reflect colors around them. The unusual shading in the vertical blinds is the same color as the building and surrounding buildings. It could be a combination of the two factors.
