Getting AI on an older iMac

i'm horribly disappointed that my iMac computer purchased about 3 to 4 years ago doesn't have the chip to work with the new AI. It was an expensive machine (lots of memory) that I’d like to get 3-5 more years out of…. Is there a way that I could hook up Mac mini to my iMac to be able to get the AI features in Apple email? Or a laptop? I am a professor, and I can see that it would really help speed up my email. I likely won’t use the AI features for anything else, but that since I know how to write. ;)

I don’t use iCloud to store messages; they are all on my harddrive of the IMac, all 25 years of them. No, I don’t want to shift to the cloud, so it would need to be a hard cabled solution

iMac 27″, macOS 15.2

You must be aware technology outpaces hardware. Imagine if you had purchased an iPhone 15, just last year. It too cannot run Apple Intelligence as only iPhone 15 Pro models and 16 models can run Apple Intelligence. The reality is technology will progress faster than previous generations of hardware are capable of running. This will NEVER change. Your Mac does everything it did the day you got it. Expecting all new features to be able to run on machines made 3 or 4 years ago, while perhaps disappointing, is an unrealistic expectation. Just like your car manufacturer builds new technology in their newest cars, which you can't have in your current car, this is just how tech works.
