I have a new Iphone 16 running the latest O.S. and I hate the new Siri Voice. The American woman sounds grumpy and like she has a hangover. I've tried all the others too and they are slightly better. Is there some way to go back to the old ones before the update?

Apple does not officially allow users to roll back iOS versions to previous releases, meaning you cannot revert Siri's voice to the older version if an iOS update changed it. However, users can change Siri's voice to different options available within the iOS settings. You won't be able to return to a previous version of Siri's voice if an update has changed it, but you can try other available voices to find one that you like.
I hate the new Siri voice. I liked the previous female voice I had, friendly and kind. This one sounds like she has an attitude all the time. I will probably just stop using Siri. I don’t need to put up with a grumpy, smart-***, arrogant robot pushing me around.
I agree. I hate the new voices and it seems that they take up a lot of space with not one of them sounding remotely upbeat. I was using The Australian female voice on the last version because that was The most positive one I could find with the last upgrade. What can I do to get a decent voice back?
I always set timers for my breaks and Siri responds to that. Upon hearing Siri's old voice, my cats did know it was time for their treats and would come closer from wherever they were in the house! They'd learned to recognize Siri's voice as an "annoucement". Now, with the new Siri's voice (which is awful, by the way), they don't react. Shame on you, Apple. Five years of training in the trashcan. And an autistic customer completely dissatisfied with this change. :(((((

If your cats can learn one voice, they can learn another.
As the purpose of Siri is not to call cats, it's not surprising that Apple didn't take this possibliity into consideration when making changes. You can also be certain that there will always be changes in technology. If there weren't, we'd be using rotary phones. Sometimes we like the changes, sometimes we don't.

No one here can do that. No one here is with Apple. We are all users on this user to user only forum, just like you're a user. Which you might have know had you read past the first post.
Therein lies the problem. If you read through the all of the replies you’ll find that many people are dissatisfied with ALL of the Siri voice options available, myself included. I HATE the Siri voice options. I will disable it.
I too, truly hate all of the new Siri voices. She now sounds a lot like an elementary school teacher that I hated (and that’s the voice that I selected because the other choices were even worse). Over the years Siri and I have established a special relationship and Apple just took it away. For shame!

The only problem with disabling Siri is then you you don't have the service. I depend on Siri, to let me know when
laundry is done, when I have to leave for an appointment, to wake me on the mornings I have to wake early, to make a phone call when I am working with my hands, etc.
I find the new Siri is not as good as the iPhone 11 version at finding information. Sometimes I used to ask her to find out how long the local specialty market would be open and she just can't do it no matter how I pose the question. So, I no longer ask her for anything like that. I posted the original complaint and since there are now three pages of responses. Most agree with me. Why haven't I posted to apple where they might actually see it? Because I no longer think that they or any mega company cares what I want. They don't need me and they know it.

The new siri sounds like she’s smoked 5 packs a day for 50 years. PLEASE find a way to revert back or add new voices stat.

I am very disturbed by the change in Siri’s voice with the new update. My English male used to sound upbeat and positive but now he sounds uninteresting and almost menacing! I miss my old mate :-(
It's so disappointing! My old (British male) Siri was perfect - the new guy sounds... shallow - probably a weird thing to say about an AI assistant, but what can I say? 🤷♀️
