Auto Saving on Pages stopped
I was trying to stop the pages on my desktop from resizing themselves and the good news is that I was able to stop that. Now Pages on my MacBook Pro stopped auto saving.

With Pages quit, changing System Settings > Desktop & Dock to these settings will disable Pages autosave:
and the following will re-enable autosave in Pages when it is launched again:
With the latter settings, quitting Pages will not evoke any dialog as the content has already been autosaved. This feature usually takes ~5 seconds after every document change on the local filesystem, and slightly longer when the document is on iCloud where Internet delay occurrences may intervene.
Tested: Pages v14.3 and Sequoia v15.2.

You know that Pages autosave is not working (after a previous save operation to supported Apple filesystems) because the red traffic light in the title bar will have a black dot in its center. This vanishes with a manual save and document changes cause it to return. If Pages autosave is working, you will never see that effect in the preceding first sentence.
