Wipe and redo Setup on an iPad
Have just tried to Setup a new iPad Pro but it wants the password for my daughter’s Apple ID.
I have now deleted her from my Family Sharing and want to try a new Setup hoping it will ask for my ID.

If the iPad was new - and no other devices were present during initial setup - the something else is going on. Perhaps you attempted to restore an existing iCloud backup during the initial setup?
You may need to seek assistance from Apple Support. You can contact the Support Team using the Support link at top-right or bottom-left of this page.
Alternatively, you can initiate and manage your support cases from Apple devices using the excellent Apple Support App. If not already installed, the App can be downloaded from the App Store:

You might also visit the Genius Bar at your local Apple Store or Apple Authorised Service Provider (AASP) - where the technicians will be able to offer assistance:

As described, you will need to complete the setup using your daughter's AppleID. When the setup as concluded, you can properly erase the iPad - and start again.
What to do before you sell, give away, or trade in your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support
When setting-up a new iPad (or iPhone), keep all other Apple devices away from the new device that is being set-up - unless the other device is being used to transfer its data/settings and credentials to the new device.
It looks like Set up has happened but needs Apple ID Verification: ‘Sign in with Apple ID’. But asking for my daughter’s.
I used my iCloud via my iPhone to do the Set up. I have Family Sharing with my daughter but don’t get why it’s picked up her ID. I’m the organizer.
Thanks for replying.
Sadly, her password will not work. She updated the password tonight but it’s not being accepted.
I can’t understand how her ID is associated with my phone or iCloud. Her devices are no where near me atm. She’s in another town, although we lived together in the past.
At what step in the set-up process are you now - as this will determine how (or even if) you can escape and start again? What, precisely, do you see on the iPad screen?
I also received a notification message telling me that my own Apple ID was used to sign into iCloud on the new iPad….and yet on the final verification I’m asked for my daughters ID. Go figure!
Thank you. I will follow this up with Apple Support.
