How do I enable external audio recording in Logic Pro?

This is on Sonoma 14.6.1, Logic 11.1.1. Only today did this start happening. I can hear myself perfectly in the monitor but as soon as I go to listen to what I've recorded there's no sound. Again, per the title, the same happens if I record using my Scarlett and microphone or using the internal MacBook microphone. The wavelength looks normal as well. I've tried restarting everything and eve reinstalled Logic. Core audio is enabled. As far as I know, I haven't changed any of my settings since I last used it.

As I was writing this I noticed something new. The playback will only occur if I highlight any other track. Is this a bug? Or did I select something in the settings by mistake?

Thank you to all in advance~

Try this:

• De-activate Input Monitoring and

• (uncheck the view of Input Monitoring in the Track Header. You may not need it anymore. )

• Uncheck Auto Input Monitoring in Logic's Bar top menu > Record > Auto Input Monitoring. Now you should be able to hear your input when Record is enabled no matter weather Logic is playing, recording, paused or stopped.
