Apple tv stopped working when HomePods connected.

Hi!

i bought two HomePod minis for using as stereo for my tv. I have a Apple tv 4K. When I use HomePods as main «sound out» the Apple tv becomes laggy, and it cant load YouTube and other apps. I have tried resetting, reinstalling everything and so on, but nothing works. I spent 250 dollars for better sound, but here I am using the tv speakers… Would love if someone knew what I could do to solve this.

Apple TV and HomePod Since the week the original HomePod came out, I have had two of them, set up as a stereo pair, connected to my Apple TV. With the most recent updates, specifically, iOS 16, the HomePods often only play AppleTV system sounds, but when I open any app from Apple Music, to Netflix, to YouTube, the programming often will not play. When I enter or exit the app, I get the usual and correct sounds. Most of the time, the problem can be fixed by resetting the Apple TV, the HomePods themselves, or by changing the audio output in AppleTV system settings, but sometimes, even after full resets, I am left with the same issue. One of the greatest things about HomePod has been the phenomenal sound quality that the stereo pair provides, especially with anything on Apple TV, but now I find that it’s getting impossible to use. Has anybody had this problem? I will add that my iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, and HomePods are all updated to the most recent version of their operating systems.

apple tv airplay error: unable to connect to HomePod. You can switch to TV speakers in Settings after using my paired HomePods as sole audio source for my Apple TV for quite some time, today my apple tv reports "unable to connect to HomePod. You can switch to TV speakers in Settings" error. during the hour or so of troubleshooting, another error showed up at least once as well: "Apple TV couldn't make HomePod the default Audio Output. Try connecting your Apple TV and HomePod speakers to the same wireless access point, or enable IP aliasing on your router". trouble shooting attempts: -unpaired the HomePods -reset the HomePods -rebooted the apple tv -rebooted my wifi router (eero Pro) -used a second apple tv in an adjoining room to select HomePod pair...which played for 3 or 4 seconds and then reported the same "unable to connect to HomePod. You can switch to TV speakers in Settings" my new MacBook Pro, iphone, iPad can stream to the HomePod pair with no problems. only the apple tvs in the house have problems now using the HomePod pair as audio source. thoughts?

HomePod loses Apple TV connection Has anyone found a long term fix to making sure the HomePods play the Apple TV output? Mine keeps breaking. I have a current gen Apple TV 4K, and the 1st gen HomePods as a stereo pair, and the HomePods very regularly lose their connection as my default Audio output, and it's driving me crazy. I've tried everything - reboots/restarts of all devices, resets of the homepod, a new Apple TV altogether, signing out of iCloud, and back in. All settings are absolutely correct. Part of me thinks that since the 1st gen HomePod doesn't have the Thread support and other components (which the HomePod mini does), this just isn't going to be reliable.
