Sync iPhone and watch sound alerts

when wearing my apple watch I only hear alert sound on my watch. I need to hear it on the phone. How can I get this to happen. I’m missing important alerts.

Why is there no setting to receive alert sounds both on Apple Watch and iPhone? It is important to have this choice — and in some cases very much needed to ensure an important alert isn’t missed. But there seems to be no way to enable this option.

This is the one feature I despise on the watch. from other user: “Is there a way to get text notifications (sounds ) on my iPhone while wearing an Apple Watch I wear headphones and work in a loud environment where I don’t hear or feel the watch when I have my phone connected to Apple car play with a cord I don’t get the notifications through the truck either so I’m assuming it’s connected as well i don’t need the sounds on the Watch but would like to read and reply on the watch for convenience but at this point thinking it’s more annoying and might just use the watch on the weekends but that’s a waste thanks”

That is how it is designed, you only hear on phone when it is open, otherwise only on Watch
