How to choose a Monitor for Mac mini M4

Hello! Which monitor (not Apple for cost reasons) do you recommend for the Mac mini M4?

I don't use the computer for gaming but for amateur photo editing.

Maximum budget: around 400 euros.

Thanks!

I tend to be a little suspicious of "no-name" equipment and I notice that there are only 8 reviews and one mentions dead pixels.

FWIW I have a 27" 5K iMac and a 27" 1080p Philips that cost £110.

Side by side the iMac looks better but when I am just using the Philips I forget it isn't as good.

I have also got my M2 mini plugged into a 32" Toshiba TV that was bought a few years ago to use in the bedroom but has now been superseded by a 48" Samsung. The picture is excellent.

The one I linked to is a Viewsonic, a good brand. Any monitor can have bad pixels but personally I've only had it once, on an Acer monitor. It was a stuck pixel rather than a dead pixel as pressing on it made it go away.

In any case his budget allows for something better, and I'd ideally be looking at a 32" as I wouldn't really want to be running 3008 x 1692 on anything smaller.

For basic color accuracy, you want a monitor with an IPS panel and 100% or near-100% coverage of sRGB. If you come across a monitor whose manufacturer does not specify coverage of sRGB, that is generally a bad sign.

Some photographers like to work in wide color gamuts, like Adobe RGB or DCI-P3. If you care about that, you can look for a monitor that has 100% or near-100% of one or both of those color gamuts.
