Trouble with TV Shows

Apple really likes annoying me. What do I mean? Recently I've tried to sync episodes of TV shows to my iPhone 13. These same episodes, which had no problem syncing up to my handheld device before, are all of a sudden bundled up into one season despite them coming from multiple seasons. Well, that's not annoying when scrolling for a specific episode.

Furthermore, there's the fact that the TV shows I bought don't show up on my computer's library unless the content is already downloaded. This is the second freak'n time that's happened to me! It's a problem that can't be pinned on crappy iPhone updates because this has been a problem on my laptop for half a year now. Only reason I'm brining it up now is because it's finally become annoying. If anybody has a solution to either of these problems, I'm all ears.

If you go to downloads it shows the list, but I am having the same problems. Apple has not done a thing to help other than telling me to restart each device, sign in and out, delete app and redownload. Nothing worked, and they just give the "oh well", blame the capabilities of my files or blame my computer. They even blamed the cord.

My TV Shows from MY library.. not ones I purchased from Apple, which is why I believe I’m having these problems. I believe Apple is going to pull “not compatible” or some other scam where you will no longer be able to sync your own mp3 or mp4, any media files to the iPhones unless you buy it from Apple or pay for a “subscription” to be allowed to put your own files on the phone you paid for. They will site some kind of copyright BS for the reason this is going to happen.

As for the problem at hand. I cannot sync my TV shows suddenly with the new update. It has 15 seasons and some 342 episodes. It was fine until the update, now I only see maybe 2 random seasons when I pull it up. Most of the episodes are not even in those seasons, and it does say I have all the episodes on the phone. If I go to the “downloaded” instead of TV Shows icon, most are there out of order. Most, so there are still around 50 episodes I cannot even find no matter how they are sorted out. This became a problem only after the ISO18.2 update.

I already did the start, restart, refresh, reset, update, download from a different port with different cords, used a different computer, signed in and signed out. Apple’s update is meant to bug your phone. That is the only thing it could be. No good company would put out an update this glitched without an underlying malicious reason.

For TV Shows from the iTunes Store or subscription content like Apple TV+, downloads should be made directly onto that destination device, not synced from a computer.

(Re)download TV shows and movies that you purchased - Apple Support

The library listing should match automatically through the matching Apple Account, to which the content is linked. Downloads shouldn’t affect that, if the account is the same.

If the Library, while online, somehow doesn’t list all your purchases and subscription content, then signing out and signing in again is the recommended way to refresh the account purchases.

Note that the iPhone’s TV app Library while on cellular, needs your extra permission to use cellular data, else would only show downloaded content. In contrast, this would be automatically working while on Wi-Fi with internet access.
