I was scanning documents to my notes this morning when it suddenly shut off unexpectedly. When I went to go back to it, I discovered that all of my notes in the “On My IPhone” section had completely disappeared. How do I retrieve them? They were not backed on iCloud, but the phone. I have an iPhone X that doesn’t update past iOS 16.7.10.

I wasn’t backing it up anywhere. It was saved in the “on my iPhone” section which is now gone.

Notes in the “On My IPhone” location are part of a backup (an iCloud backup or a local backup on your computer). Restore the backup to retrieve your notes.

I’m well aware of that now. But I also thought it was worth trying to find a solution if there was one out there.
