Turn off automatic hyphenation in iOS Pages presenter mode?

It seems that Apple recently added a function to iOS Pages in that it automatically hyphenates words when using presenter mode. The words aren't hyphenated when I look at my Pages documents in screen view, only when I switch to presenter mode, and it's really messed up dozens and dozens of my presentations. Is there any way to turn this function off?

In Pages v4.3 on iOS v18.2, and with your document open, click the ⋯⃝ button on the toolbar, and from its Help menu, select Send Feedback. That goes directly to the Pages product team and as a feature request, ask them for better hyphenation control in presentation mode.

Remember how long it took them to give back non-contiguous text selection in Pages? 8 years. You can bet that the feedback asking for this feature was tremendous over that timeframe too… Depends on what the Pages product team deems important and that might just be contrary to real world user demand.

I have no idea why Apple has taken to changing functions like this without notifying users they're doing so. They just spring these things on us now without the least concern for their users. They're certainly NOT the wonderful Apple company I had so much loyalty towards back in the 1990's when I first started out with them. They don't seem to give a rip about their customers anymore. Too much money I guess.

Apple still has that 1980s vendor mindset that it is their product and they will change it as they see fit, regardless of the user impact. Never expect Apple to ask users for permission, or give warning about product changes. No software-producing vendor does that.

No. Not that Apple appears to document.
