While watching a Prime app TV show with my USB earbuds connected, I noticed the blue status indicator light flash multiple times. Then I picked up the device and the light went out. It did not come back on. What the heck is going on with this device? I checked my app notification settings and could not see what would cause this behavior. Is this phone spying on me and sending information out? Sorry but this is freaking me out.

I have an iPhone 15 running iOS 18.1.1. Could this be some new feature introduced but not yet documented anywhere? No web search results talk about this "blue" indicator light being present on the device.
After checking on this VC feature you mentioned, I confirmed that was not it. Also, that feature is not enabled on my device. More detail, while watching the program in the Prime Video app, the device was displaying everything in the landscape mode. The blue indicator flashed on the top right corner area of the device. All Prime Video app notifications are disabled too. But I will double check to make sure.
Soapbox: I jump from an Android because of the lack of features, now I have to deal with a device with so many features that many of them are hard to find and set them up, and or undocumented. yikes!
When you say prime app are you referring to Amazon Prime or what exactly? I no longer subscribe, but when I did, it believe that’s a notification in the Amazon Prime Video app. It signifies that the app is experiencing internet connection issues. This usually relates to setting the quality setting higher than your internet company can provide the data for. In other words your connection is too slow for that quality.
Yes, the Prime Video app is what I'm using. You might be right about the reason. The internet connection indicator could have been the reason. And I did check the app specific notification settings. There is a setting for that. So now it's a test, wait and see thing now. I'm more satisfied now, that it's not an iPhone specific notification issue. Thx for the response.
When you turn the iPhone horizontal, Apple does not have a notch to display colored dots and various icons. The blue is in the app itself. Apple would have to slide a Notification down. This is in the app itself. I’m pretty sure it the Amazon Video internet warning. Please lets us know what you find out.
Does it look like this? I believe you are referring to the Voice Control feature, which must have been enabled. Also no one was spying on you, that is practically impossible on iPhone.
