Garageband still corrupting files in different projects repeatedly...

... no matter where I save them, desktop or separate hard drive, and no matter how I save them "Save" or "Save as". It just hangs and I have to force quit. Even the backup files corrupt and I lose a ton of very careful editing. On the latest Garageband version as of this posting.

I need to move to another DAW. Suggestions? Does Ableton do this?
