‘Unintelligent' anomaly in iOS 18.2 - region & Siri voice

Hi folks, I just updated my new iphone 16 Pro Max to 18.2.

For years I have had my Siri voice set to English(Ireland). I love this voice -I call him Seamus :)

Now, in order to have Seamus continue to talk to me, utilising Apple Intelligence I am required to set my phone’s region to Ireland, which of course changes other things which don’t suit Australia. Which for something labelled as ‘Intelligence’ I find a little annoying.

Can anyone tell me whether Apple intend to allow a different Siri voice to the set region, or will I have to make a decision between retaining ‘Seamus’ (by setting the region to Ireland - & losing the default $ -replaced with € for example, OR setting my region to Australia & losing ’Seamus’ to an Aussie sounding Siri ?

First world problem I know - but I wonder whether Apple have even considered this?

The following is extracted from this article --> Apple Intelligence - Apple (IN)

"Apple Intelligence is available in beta on all iPhone 16 models, iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, iPad mini (A17 Pro), and iPad and Mac models with M1 and later, with Siri and device language set to English (Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, South Africa, UK or US), as part of an iOS 18, iPadOS 18 and macOS Sequoia software update. Additional features and languages will be available in April, with more languages and platforms coming over the course of the year. Languages supported in 2025 include Chinese, English (India, Singapore), French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Spanish and Vietnamese.

Some features will become available in software updates in the coming months."
