Can a HomePod maintain a temperature range in a room?

I see that I can trigger actions with a HomePod to do send a signal to a smart outlet which could energize an electric heater if the room goes below a certain temperature threshold. I suspect I could then create another automation so when the room temperature exceeded a certain temperature that the heater would turn off.

Am I correct in assuming that if I manually turn the smart outlet on, that it will stay on until the room crosses the temperature threshold, but will not do anything if the room temperature is already above the maximum temperature set in the HomePod?

I’ve yet to meet a portable heater that didn’t have some sort of thermostatic control.

Given how often HomeKit and Matter glitch locally, I’d not trust those with a heater, and this all assuming the switchable outlet is within its rating.

There are heaters with HomeKit and/or Matter integration, including the Econohome smart wall heater, and Honeywell Lyric. Some other potential options: https://www.howtogeek.com/888477/best-smart-space-heaters/

Not for a space heater. The space heater should do this on its own once it reaches a certain temperature in the room, it will shut off. It will come on again once the temperature drops. Assuming you have these controls in the heater. Incidentally you should not plug space heaters into smart plugs. They should be plugged directly into the into a wall outlet and not be sharing plugs with other devices, for your own safety. Please refer to the user manual that came with the heater.

Thank you. That is very helpful. I will look at the options that you present there.

Presently, I'm using a Luxe M100 thermostat https://www.amazon.com/BB101141SA-008-Mechanical-Non-Programmable-Thermostat-Heat/dp/B000E7NYY8/ref=asc_df_B000E7NYY8 which 5-2 day thermostat with four intervals during each day. It works exceptionally well, but I need to go out there in order to change the temperature. I would like to remotely adjust the temperature so it'll be warm by the time I get out there.

It looks like there's a product Rio Arc that can do that however at over $400 that's more than I wish to spend.

I welcome any other ideas.
