Siri on Homepods no longer works for Apple Music controls.

I too have this issue.

I have 7 homepod minis throughout the house all playing the same music. Everything worked fine until Apple Intelligence was released. Now Siri on Homepods if totally useless.

I say "Hey Siri dislike this song." and it says "I found some web results if you ask from your iphone". It used to mark the song as "Suggest Less like this" and skip it.

If I say "Hey siri like this song" it gives me the same useless "I found some web results" message. It used to say "I told apple music you like this song" and marked it as a favorited song.

If I say "Hey Siri add this song to my favorites" it says "I cannot do that, the favorites playlist is uneditable". What The **** does that mean?

If I ask all these same commands from my iphone they work as expected. Did they push a change to homepod Siri to pull her smarts to try and make Apple Intelligence a wee bit smarter?

I have given it a few weeks now. Usually strange things like this will pop up on the homepod siri then correct themselves later. I fear apple has pulled engineers off their normal roles into Apple Intelligence to chase others. Can we please put them back on their regular roles? PLEASE!

HomePod mini, 18

I have updated to 18.2 on every device in the house. HomePods/ipads/iphones/watches/apple tvs/macs are all updated. Updated eero WiFi. Rebooted EVERYTHING twice. Same issue.

but now when I say “Hey Siri. Favorite this song”, she replies with “I have added this song to your favorites playlist” but it does mark the song as a “Favorite” with a highlighted star icon.

Update!

I figured out a MaGiCaL Phrase for Siri. If I say ….

”Hey Siri. Do not play this song again.”

she replies with “I have told Apple Music that you do not like this song.” AND marks it as thumbs down=Suggest Less Like This.

that is all I really wanted. Can’t they make something work and let it keep working forever. Or at least tell us the changes they made.

Same issue, so frustrating.

Bug after bug after bug. Lame.

I have 4 HomePods that no longer work correctly with Apple Music since updating to HomePod OS 18.

Siri is 99.9% useless garbage. Apple Intelligence is useless in its current state. (on devices that support it)

All my Apple devices are up to date and my HomePods are on OS 18.2.

I don’t run Apple betas because I don’t want the headache but here we are on final releases constantly running into bugs. It’s frustrating.
