After the last update iMovie is locked to a screen asking authorization for music sharing. Can’t cancel the screen, can’t skip. The app is just useless and I have tons of projects on it. Any workarounds?

HERE’S THE FIX!!!! Everyone Follow this: SETTINGS GENERAL/TRANSFER OR RESET/IPHONE RESET/RESET LOCATION AND PRIVACY. humuhumuhumu shared this in another post and it works. I had the same problem and contacted Apple. They had no clue. I stumbled onto this link iMovie needed permission - Apple Community while on the phone and informed the specialist. She asked for the discussion title, found the page (iMovie needed permission - Apple Community), and instructed me to follow the steps. I did and was able to get into iMovie. It’s dumb what Apple has done without any rhyme or reason.
This update has effectively and completely locked my daughter out of the app on her iPad Air M2. We have tried everything, short of deleting the app and losing all her work, and nothing works. Please fix this ASAP! Either fix the problem or re-release the earlier version—at least that one was useable.
I’m having the same issue, have permissions for photos, no where to give permissions for music. Pressed continues. And it just set there, restarted iPad, still the same. It works on the iPhone with no problem . Please resolve so I can work on my projects and meet my deadlines.
i have the same issue. on both iphone and ipad. imovie does not open and stops when asking for the foto and music access. if anyone found a solution in the meantime that does not require a complete reset with potential loss of all data, would be great if you could share. i worked on a project for a month and have to access it.

To all other people, I tried reinstalling the app on my iphone as I didn’t have important projects on that device. This will delete your data. The reset of privacy and location did not delete anything in my case.
Thanks, I prefer to wait until a notice is directly from iPhone support or they create another app fix for the iMovie. I can’t risk losing all media, even thought I have it backed up in several locations. You mention iPhone, did it work on the iPad Pro as well. I’m not having issues with the iPhone only the iPad.
Tried it. This doesn’t work. Apple won’t allow limited access to selected photos and videos. It is demanding full access to your library in order to continue. It must be forcing learning to its AI through everyone’s footage.
Apple, can you please fix this bug. I need to get into this app.

Doesn’t seem to work. Apple seems to be releasing more and more faulty updates instead of checking them thoroughly first, very sad to see happening to them/us. And this is still not fixed!
Can you be more specific about the location and privacy settings that fixed this? I tried to look for those settings and wasn’t able to find the ones that help!

i didn’t lose anything. I still have projects from 2019.
All it does is reset your privacy permissions.
