restore Time Machine to M4 mini from firewire 800 drive

I have a new M4 Mini, and need to restore my Time Machine backup from my old Mini to it. The old Mini has a firewire800 time machine drive. Apple no longer sells the adapter cable for FW800 to Thunderbolt. So what options am I left with? I can't attach the portable backup drive directly to the M4 Mini without an adapter. Thank you.

Mac mini, macOS 15.1

As den.thed replied you might just use USB if the enclosure has it (old USB might be much slower than FW, though).

I'd not try to hunt pricy FW to Thunderbolt adapters unless you that is your only option to import from a DV camcorder.

Instead, take the drive out of the FW enclosure and put it in a USB enclosure or connect it as a naked drive to a simple SATA or ATA to USB adapter. I have done that to most of my old FW drives even though I have those clumsy FW to Thunderbolt adapters.
