Mac Mini keeps telling me my password is wrong. I’ve now tried a few times to change my Apple password via my phone, but Mac Mini still says no. I’ve been locked out for a day and it’s now telling me it could be a lot longer. The best I achieved was a code sent to my phone and used on the Mac Mini. But it still said my password is wrong. Now going around in circles.

Also, if you are having difficulty managing your passwords and logins please begin using the new Passwords apps pre-installed in Mac OS. This was release with Sequoia I believe. If your Mac cannot run Sequoia (I have no idea how old your Mac is) then get an app such as 1Password to manage all of your passwords, logins, etc.. You can find 1Password in the Mac App Store.
Are you referring to the login password to your Mac or are you referring to your AppleID. These are 2 totally separate issues, so first we need to know which password (login or AppleID) you are having a problem with.
It’s both. The Mac will not accept my current password or previous one. Then when I use the option to reset it using my Apple password that also fails, despite me resetting it using my phone. I get as far as receiving a code to my phone to insert on the Mac and that takes me back to the Apple ID & password, refusing the password again.
Went around the block a few more times, but eventually made it. Taking a leap of faith with some of the questions asked. Is it normal that users know if its macOS Sequoia, Sonoma, Ventura, Monterey, Big Sur, and Catalina? I don't. There are also other false trails. Anyway, the good thing is I made it.
