.MP3 replaced by .movpkg for podcast I'm in the middle of!

I co through the group containers route to put podcasts on a Finis Duo MP3 player while I swim. Suddenly in the middle of the Serial/NYT The Good Whale, Episode four is in this other format that the MP3 player doesn't recognize. Is there a workaround?
