Muting or fading portions of regions in GB without affecting the track.

Hi, I'm super surprised I can't find a thread about this. Working in Garage Band 10.4.11. I have a guitar track that has reverb and delay on it, but I need to mute portions of that instrument (fade out the region ends to eliminate pops, etc.), but using the automation to fade the regions turns off the volume on the whole track (including whatever reverb and delay needs to keep playing). Is there a way to do this? Many thanks!

No. When you use the automation on the track to lower the volume to zero at the end of the region of the guitar part, it lowers the volume on the whole track, including whatever effects (delay and reverb) that might continue to play (to be heard).

Doing it this way, in effect, mutes the track. In other DAWs you can put a fade on the region itself while not affecting anything else in that track.
