upload pic from iPhone to Mac mini not working

I usually move photos from my iPhone to my computers (using air drop) by clickng the tick box on the lower right corner of the image on the phone the press the device on the list of devices and people listed on my phone. When I went to do this to move a photo from the phone to my new mac mini M4 Pro it doesn't show up on my phone as a destination as my other laptops do. What am I missing or what isn't set right?
