The way I use Pages on my iPad is the opposite of this latest update. I want my list of Pages to remain static and always in alphanumeric order. Now they jump all over the place and I can’t keep track of where I entered what.
How do I keep the sorting alphanumeric? Or change it back to how it was yesterday (aka useful)?
You are welcome. Used iOS 18.1.1 for this instead of my M4 iPad Pro with 18.1.1. Lazy I guess…

Your original post talked about Pages, not Pages documents as viewed on iPadOS. I think you can get what you want.
When you open Pages for iPadOS, you will see either an icon or list view. Tap the ⋯⃝ and set it to List. That menu may close, so tap it again, and select Name. Your items are now in alphabetic order.
Unless you are prepared to use a table column and sort that column ascending, Pages offers no built-in sort tool for body text lists. Not since Pages '09.
There is the free WordService (Mac App Store) solution for macOS that can sort ascending or descending Pages body text lists, but there is no iOS/iPadOS version.
I’m not sure what you mean. Are you talking about putting the Pages in a table?
What I’m looking for is a way to keep all the pages static instead of having them constantly sort by date/recent changes. I keep lists of things in different pages, like Dog 1 Meds, Dog 2 Meds, etc. I want the list to remain exactly the same so I can enter the information quickly and methodically.
I want it to look like this always:
Cat 1 Meds
Cat 2 Meds
Cat 3 Meds
Dog 1 Meds
Dog 2 Meds
Dog 3 Meds
Instead what I’m getting is
Dog 3 Meds iPad
Cat 2 Meds iPad
Cat 2 Meds iCloud
Dog 1 Meds iPad
Car Mileage iCloud
Dog 1 Meds iPad
This new style is slowing me down because I have to hunt around a disordered bunch of gobbledygook each time I want to enter new info.

I didn’t have any of those options, so I shut down the iPad and fixed lunch. When I restarted, the options were there.
So that solved it. Gotta say, I am not enjoying this update. So many bugs and the deleting of my Notes still has me steamed.
