New Chargepoint cash back benefit--Apple, Goldman Sachs no help :(

On 11-19, Apple sent an email touting new 3% cash back on EV charging with Chargepoint, using AppleCard with Apple Pay. I've not received the new benefit on two Chargepoint transactions since; the entry in Wallet says "Card number used," even though I have changed my Chargepoint app to pay with my AppleCard.

Earlier this year, when Apple ran a 6% cash back promo with Chargepoint, I received the larger benefit right away, after changing my Chargepoint app to pay via my AppleCard. This time, no go.

I just spent 41+ minutes on the phone, first with Apple support in Austin, then transferred to Goldman Sachs, then transferred to Apple Cash support, then transferred to Apple Card support. There, I was put on an extended hold, then disconnected.

Has anyone had success receiving the increased 3% from Chargepoint under the new benefit? Where do I go for help? Or is this a bait-and-switch from Apple and Goldman?

Here is the deal you referred to for 3% cash back:

Learn how to get 3% Daily Cash back when you use Apple Card with Apple Pay - Apple Support

The one thing I would check in the ChargePoint app is that the Payment method should be Apple Pay. Since your Wallet says "Card Number Used", it sounds like you may have entered the Apple Card as a Credit Card, where the Apple Card would need to be used as Apple Pay. The ChargePoint app has Credit Card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and PayPal as their payment methods and using your Apple Card with the Credit Card option would not get the benefit.

After Apple Pay is set as the payment method in the ChargePoint app, then you want to make sure that the Apple Card is the Default Card to be used for the payments.

Thank you--I have in the iPhone app set the payment source to Apple Pay, and we'll see if it's successful later today.

Since I was on my iPhone with support, I was accessing my Chargepoint account via the web, and there is no option for Apple Pay on the web interface (just "new credit card" or PayPal). Accessing my account on my phone does offer the Apple Pay option.

Thank you for your quick response. Such an easy solution, I wonder why one of the support folks on the phone couldn't provide it?
