I'm working in Logic and Ableton, with an interface that no longer can connect without clock failure and jitters. The problem didn't exist on my i7 mac mini, but with the new M4/Sequoia, I cannot use this interface. Any ideas? Thanks.
Thank you -- they do. I suspect it might be a compatability issue with this particular interface, a eurorack interface called the Expert Sleepers ES-9. It takes it clock from Ableton/Logic, but is holding on 48000 for some reason, even though it's being told to run at 44100.
in complement to my other answer:
… Expert Sleepers ES-9: you might also need a firmware update on the interface (latest was March 2023 from what i see on their site).
Check in Utilities / Audio & MIDI on the mac to see if at least you see the interface as an option.
Focusrite 18i20, but the problematic one is the Expert Sleepers ES-9, either solo or as an aggregate with the Focusrite. Expert Sleepers doesn't seem to know whether it's yet compatible or not (not a great sign from them!).
Contact Logic and Ableton - for them to know first and resolve.
Also ensure both Logic and Ableton have the latest versions installed.
which interface are you using?
many DAW are not yet compatible for Sequoia. Even more with audio interfaces.
check compatibility on the relevant providers.
