Can't use my old iPad in China
I have a very old iPad (2010, MB293LL) purchased from the US (or Europe), in perfect condition; instead of throwing it away, I brought it to China thinking about giving it to my Grandma to simply play with WeChat. However, after restoring it to factory settings, it encounters two main problems:
- Under 'Setting\ Safari', there are 3 searching engines: Google, Yahoo, and Bing ---- None of them seems to work in China ---- I did try Bing and the browser only displayed some very basic and useless contents
- I tried to log in with my Apple ID and even tried to sign up for a new Apple ID ---- it simply never worked ---- always showed 'can not connect to iTunes Store'
I have tried to search for solutions online but so far there has been no hope ---- for God's sake I only wanted to install WeChat for my Grandma to use a bigger screen than her cellphone.
To all the Apple experts in the community, should I give up further attempts or not? Frankly tell me it's a dead-end road without any solution.
Thanks in advance for your help!
