Mac mini on my TV?

I have an old MacBook Pro 2015 that I only use for administrative stuff, around once a week or less. I use more my iPhone daily and iPad almost daily. I don’t work from home and my company provides a computer.

So I thought about getting a reconditioned MacBook Air 2020 to get M1 chip around 660€. But the new Mac mini is at 700€, would it be possible to put it on my Samsung connected TV via HDMI and use a Bluetooth connected keyboard and trackpad? Even use my iPad as a second screen?

what do you think?

Yes you can plug an HDMI TV and/or most any other external display into the new Mac mini.

IMHO it makes more sense to buy a new Mac mini, than it does to buy a 4 year old MacBook Air.

IMO, it’s better to spend less money on stuff you don’t need than more. Get the MacBook.

Yes, you can connect a TV to a Mac mini via HDMI.

I am doing it at this moment using an old Toshiba 32" TV as a second monitor.

I agree!

I've never bought any tech second hand as I've seen how people use (or misuse) things.

The mini will also be at least 50% faster and have more expansion ports.
