How can I save files in DOC format using LibreOffice

I have been using pages on iPad but I do not like it on MacBook it saves as DOCX but not DOC option, I have tried Libra office, but could not get on with it, so I prefer NeoOffice it may be older but much more user friendly I think.

LibreOffice Writer > Save As… Word 97 - 2003 (.doc). Very obvious in the save options.

Starting Dec. 2006, Microsoft switched to .docx (Open Office XML) format and that is the industry-accepted word processing format you should be using now instead of that ancient and very proprietary .doc format.
