TB5 port compatibility issue with TB4 enclosure on Mac mini M4 Pro

I just bought an ACASIS TBU 405 to expand my mac mini m4 pro 512GB. I also ordered 2GB WD black SN700 but it is still on this way. So, to test the ACASIS enclosure I throw in a 512GB Samsung PCIe 3.0 drive for now.

1) The drive, ACASIS TB4 enclosure and the TB 4 cable that comes with it work fine on two front USB 10GBs ports

2) The combo does not work on any of three 3 TB5 ports at the back. The drive was first mounted but then disconnected after simply browsing some folders.

3) I tried the combo on my Thinkpad X1C Gen 11 TB4 ports. It works fine as well.

4) Just out of my curiosity, I replaced the TB 4 cable from ACASIS with a USB 3.1 cable from another enclosure. It works fine on TB5 ports as well. Of course, it is slow.

So, I am scratching my head now. I wonder if new mac mini m4 pro has some TB5 backward compatible issues with TB4 enclosure and/or cable.

To eliminate cable issue (which I doubt since it works fine on my Thinkpad), I ordered a 'cablematter' TB4 cable from Amazon. Will test it out once it is delivered tomorrow.

Any advice is greatly appreciated!

"Just because your drive works on the non Apple product does not mean it will work the same on a Mac. I found that out long ago."

This is very helpful.
