UI Freezing in Logic 11.1

Since updating to 11.1 the UI freezes when playing or recording. The project still plays or records, but gives no visual feedback. The play head does not move, the bar or time does not advance, none of the meters show levels. Changing levels on a track does not visual register, but will update if you do something else on the tack (like click into Audio FX menu or change input).


This happens on existing projects and even with a brand new empty project with a single track. The only way to get the UI to refresh is restart, but it will freeze when I play/record again.


I've tried reinstalling Logic, but still have the same issue. I have same issue with my audio interface or just playing through Mac Studio speakers. I filed a report in Feedback Assistant, but there is no Logic category, so I doubt it will get to right team, so I'm cross posting here. In almost 20 years of using Logic, this probably the worst bug I've come across.

So, if you run into this, you might help the Logic team by triggering a sysdiagnose. Therefore, you press

C o n t r o l -

O p t i o n -

Command-

Shift-Period.

as soon as you see the UI freeze. It takes a few minutes to finish. At the end, a finder window pops up with a tar-archive. I'm not sure, if you can attach this to the feedback form. However, you might keep that.

Alternatively, you can use the Activity Monitor to "sample" Logic, while it is stuck. Therefore, launch the Activity monitor, select Logic Pro from the list of active task, select "Sample Process" from the toolbox menu (this (...) thingy). Then you get a window with text, which is quite long, but just post it here.
