Thunderbird mailer crashes after update to MacOS 15.1.1

I preferentially use the Thunderbird mailer, presently version 128.4.4

Last night I "updated" the OS on my macbook pro to MacOS 15.1.1

Since the update, Thunderbird crashes when I attempt to open it. I suspect the MacOS update is at fault.


Any suggestions for how to get Thunderbird working again would be appreciated.
