Forwarding web page in Safari via iMessage results in a truncated link which fails

iPhone with the latest updates as of (2024-11-21).

Upon investigation, I see the links originating in Safari

have the '.html' truncated in iMessage, therefore ...

https://mydomain.com/randompage.html

gets transmitted as

https://mydomain.com/randompage

I tried FireFox and it included the '.html' in iMessage.

iPhone 13 Pro
